The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (“CySEC”) has notified the Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) that the Cyprus Investment Firm (“CIF”) AirFinance Pro Ltd (“the Company”) renounced its authorisation with effect from the 9th November 2016, and consequently the Company is no longer authorised by the said Commission to carry out investment services and activities as an investment firm. The Company is therefore no longer authorised to passport its services in Malta under Article 31 of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Directive 2004/39/EC).
Prior to the Company’s renunciation of its CIF authorisation, the said authorisation was suspended in terms of CySEC’s decision of the 17th June 2016. A public notice to this effect was issued by the MFSA on the 10th October 2016 (MFSA Ref: 87-2016).
Pursuant to section 24(3) of the Cypriot Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2007 (“the Law”), the Company is obliged to settle within a period of three months, its obligations arising from the investment services that lapsed. Until such time, in accordance with section 25(4) of the Law, the Company remains under the supervision of CySEC.
In view of the above, the MFSA strongly advises against responding to any offer of financial services from AirFinance Pro Ltd.
