Mr Michael Duignan 51, has been appointed Director of the Securities and Markets Unit at the Malta Financial Services Authority with effect from 1st February, 2012. Mr Duignan is experienced in securities regulation and market supervision at the European level. He was previously Head of Securities and Exchanges Branch at HM Treasury, UK (1998-2000), Primary Markets Policy Manager (2000-2007) and Market Conduct Manager (2007-2008) at the Financial Services Authority UK and more recently Head of Market Supervision at the Irish Stock Exchange (2008 -2011).
