Andrew Said – Head, Internal Audit
Andrew joined the MFSA in 2012, where he led and managed the Investment Services Team within the Investments Services Supervision function. During his tenure, he was actively involved in the implementation of various regulatory returns and contributed to the implementation of the Capital Requirements Directive IV (CRD IV).
In 2017, Andrew transitioned to the Internal Audit function where he has played a key role in strengthening the MFSA’s internal control framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Banking & Finance from the University of Malta and lectures at the University of Malta, in the Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Regulation and Compliance.
Andrew plays an active role in shaping to the internal audit profession and regulatory landscape. He serves on the European Central Bank Internal Audit Committee (ECB-IAC), the Institute of Internal Auditors – Malta Chapter and the European Financial Supervisory Authorities (FSA) Internal Audit Forum.
