On 19 of February 2025, the Malta Financial Services Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andorran Financial Authority, aimed at strengthening the cooperation and coordination between both authorities in the supervision of entities in the insurance sector.

Signing the MoU on behalf of the MFSA, CEO Kenneth Farrugia said: “This MoU formally establishes a collaboration framework for mutual assistance in the field of supervision between the two authorities. The framework will facilitate the exchange of information, technical assistance, and cooperation in various supervisory processes, with the goal of enhancing supervision and promoting the stability of the financial system.”

The protocol comes into effect on the date of its signing.
