Brief note regarding the recent publication and coming into force of two Acts amending laws administered by the MFSA
AUGUST 14, 2007

1. An ACT to amend Various Financial Services Laws, published on the 3rd August, 2007 (Act XX of 2007)

 

Entry into force

Part I – Amendment of the Malta Financial Services Authority Act: amendments entered into force upon publication.

Part II – Amendment of the Financial Markets Act: amendments shall come into force on the 1st November, 2007.

Part III – Amendment of the Investment Services Act: amendments shall come into force on the 1st November, 2007.

Part IV – Amendment of the Banking Act: amendments entered into force upon publication.

Part V – Amendment of the Insurance Business Act: amendments entered into force upon publication.

Part VI – Amendment of the Insurance Intermediaries Act: amendments entered into force upon publication.

Part VII – Transitory provisions: provisions under this Part shall come into force from such date in the future as the Minister may by order establish.

 

2. An Act to amend the Companies Act published on the 24th July, 2007 (Act XV of 2007)

 

This Act entered into force on the 10th August 2007 by means of L.N. 213 of 2007.
