Career Spotlight – Giulia Gaddari, Senior Analyst, Strategy Policy & Innovation
AUGUST 02, 2022

Giulia Gaddari - Senior Analyst, Strategy Policy & Innovation, MFSA

Giulia joined the MFSA in January 2018 as an Analyst within the Authorisation Unit, focusing mainly on the authorisation of investment funds and fund managers. In 2020, she moved to the newly set up Strategy Policy and Innovation function where she occupies the role of a Senior Analyst.

During our brief chat with her, we spoke about what attracted her to the MFSA as a workplace and her advice to graduates who are starting out in the field.

Why did you choose the MFSA as your workplace?

Working for a regulator provides you with a unique perspective on financial services, and I was particularly interested in gaining this kind of exposure at the early stages of my career.

What is the best piece of advice that you’ve received that has helped you in your career?

To shy away from mediocrity, and that any task - no matter how small - is worth dedication.

What would be your advice to graduates just starting out their career in financial services?

I would recommend that they try and learn as much as possible during the first years of their career, as such skills will prove essential in the future. I would also tell them that it is only healthy to take enough time to understand what their real career goals are, and to not think they are supposed to have it all figured it out from the very early stages of their work life.
