MFSA Circular – Opportunities from Regulatory Development – Widening the breadth of services offered by practitioners
JUNE 26, 2012

On 13 July 2012, the MFSA will be tackling the results of the rapid development in the regulatory framework for financial services seen over the past two years in a workshop to be held at the MFSA’s offices.

The workshop will run for three hours and will provide an opportunity for interaction with the Malta Financial Services Authority. It will be addressed by Prof Joe Bannister, [Chairman], Ms Maryanne Scicluna [Director, Authorisation Unit] and Dr Michael Xuereb [Director, Regulatory Development Unit].

The discussion will focus on two main areas. The speakers will discuss the range of structures and instruments introduced and not, as yet, made full use of. In parallel with this, the MFSA has been working on streamlining the authorisation process to make it more efficient and responsive to client needs, without detracting from its robustness. Both areas should be of great interest to any practitioner in financial services.

The workshop will be held on Friday, 13 July 2012, between 13:00 and 16:00 at the MFSA Conference Room in Mriehel. To register, please send an email to [email protected] by no later than 6 July 2012. Attendance will be on a first come first basis and will be limited to 100.
