ATOM Trustees Ltd (“the Company”) requested the Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) to accept the termination of registration of the Gemstone Retirement Scheme (“the Scheme”) as a Personal Retirement Scheme in terms of the Retirement Pensions Act, (Cap. 514).
The MFSA has accepted the Company’s request. The termination is entirely voluntary and does not arise as a result of any regulatory action taken by the MFSA. Accordingly, with effect from 16 December 2024 the Scheme will no longer be registered as a Personal Retirement Scheme in terms of the Retirement Pensions Act, (Cap. 514).
As a consequence, the Company also requested the MFSA to accept the surrender of its licence to act as a Retirement Scheme Administrator in terms of the Retirement Pensions Act, (Cap.514). The MFSA has accepted the Company’s request. This termination is entirely voluntary and does not arise as a result of any regulatory action taken by the MFSA. Accordingly with effect from 16 December 2024, the Company will cease to be licensed as a Retirement Scheme Administrator.’
