The MFSA has transposed the UCITS IV Directive (Directive 2009/65/EC) as follows:

[a] Three new legal notices have been issued: [i] Investment Services Act (Marketing of UCITS) Regulations, 2011 [L.N. 241 of 2011]; [ii] Investment Services Act (UCITS Mergers) Regulations, 2011 [L.N. 242 of 2011]; and [iii] Investment Services Act (UCITS Management Company Passport) Regulations, 2011 [L.N. 243 of 2011]; and

[b] Amendments have been made to the MFSA’s Investment Services Rules for Investment Services Providers and the Investment Services Rules for Retail Collective Investment Schemes.

The new requirements came into force on 1st July 2011.
